A remnant of the old KL, even from my father's younger days (80s,90s) that serves great Nasi with Lauk Minang. There's also a satay stall, rojak mamak, as well a small chinese noodle stall, all inside the café. I came a little late over 4pm, so there wasn't much left... But the food was nice! I loved the Rendang Daging as well as Gulai nenas. Definitely will come again for the sambal balado!

My wife seemed to have liked this restaurant so much that we came here again, with another friend this time... We came here for breakfast the other day, at the insistance of my wife. I had no idea about the history of this cafe, as this was my first ever visit. But apparently, my wife had been to this restaurant for more than a hundred times already!! These visits were mostly during the 80's, when she was much younger, obviously... Located along the famous and busy Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, this venue is a popular destination for every meals, especially for lunch when people were seen queing from outside to get their regular fixes. Luckily, we were still quite early, and could easily secure our seats. But it wasnt for long, as I could observe myself when the crowd started coming in droves.. Aside from the normal kopitiam type of foods, they were three other so-called sub operators fronting the restaurant. These are the Rojak seller, the Nasi Padang guy, and the chinese fried rice and meehoon operator. My wife knew exactly what she wanted to eat. She immediately ordered her favorite Rojak Mamak, which was served almost instantly. I was quite indefinite about what to eat, as I dont normally have a heavy breakfast. But I also noticed that the two gentlemen sitting at the next table were both having Nasi Goreng. Hence, that was my preferred choice, and it turned out to be a winner after all...The delicious taste was unmistakenly similar to my favorite nasi goreng dishes from Ipoh, which were the best ever!! The Leng Soh, wife of the owner was sitting at the table next to ours. But she was just having Greek Yoghurt and dried fruits instead...talk about your healthy concoctions for breakfast, while we the customers were pampered by those not-so-healthy stuffs...

Many varieties for Nasi Padang. Food was great. Too many dishes too choose from. Their acar is a bit different....sourish and creamy but tasted great. Overall nothing is too spicy and just right. Rojak with sotong was good but not enough vege. Would be good to have a bit more. No chance to try mee hailam and satay. Next time...

That's how a kopitiam should be where people from different races gathered together to have a meal.

Muslim friendly. Age old Hainam kopitiam where all races congregate for meals. At the front of kopitiam are nasi campur, rojak and mee goreng while the kopitiam serves the usual drinks, toasts, etc. we can't comment on the food more as it is good. They had maintained the quality till to-date! I was here in the 90s during my young days stopping here for lunch often. Judging from the packed kopitiam, you will know how the food is. Must visit for good food and the good vibes seeing multi racial patrons sitting in a kopitiam.

I think this cafe always crowded with old time customer with different races. Try avoid time like breakfast or lunch hour if u want to avoid queue or waiting for empty seats. They have 3 food stall inside; nasi padang, rojak, & mee goreng stall i think, and ofcoz classic kopi and roti bakar. Taste not bad
